The book “With a View to Level B2 Exams in English” is intended for students of English who are preparing for Level B2 exams. The exercises given in this book are not to be considered as mere tests; they are, in fact, intended to provide students preparing for examinations in English with essentials of skills and background knowledge enabling them to advance to the required standard. The vocabulary has been carefully chosen so that it may enrich the already known one in a variety of situations.
This book is divided in twenty units, each of which is subdivided in sections.
The book is accompanied by a Glossary and an Answer Book
1. English usage.
20 multiple-choice questions practising the English usage.
2. Sentence transformation.
In this section a variety of structures with which students should be familiar at this level are presented in sentences which have to be reconstructed so as to give the exact meaning of the original sentence.
3. Derivatives.
Practice in forming derivatives of key words so as to fit suitably in the blanks of given sentences.
4. Multiple choice Cloze test.
A multiple choice cloze test, each with 20 gaps to fill.
5. Open completion Cloze test.
An open completion cloze test, each with 20 gaps to fill.
6. Composition.
Four topics for composition/essay writing, each provided with some useful hints.
When dealing with the tests of this book, a reference to the respective structural phenomena should be considered advisable, as then the student can be sure to benefit from their study.
