This book is divided into ten Units, each being subdivided as follows:

1. Reading passage (I).

A passage followed by multiple-choice comprehension questions.

2. English usage.

20 multiple-choice questions practising the English usage.

3. Sentence transformation.

In this section a variety of structures with which students should be familiar at this level are presented in sentences which have to be reconstructed so as to give the exact meaning of the original sentence.

4. Key word transformation.

Controlled reconstruction of a sentence using a given key word.
In this section, in transforming a sentence, the student is required to fill a gap in the yielding sentence using from two to five words, including a key word given in the test for each sentence.

5. Derivatives.

Practice in forming derivatives of key words so as to fit suitably in the blanks of given sentences.

6. Multiple choice cloze test.

7. Open completion cloze test.

8. Error correction.

20 sentences, some of which are correct and others contain unnecessary words that should be traced out.

9. Reading passage (II).

10. Composition / Essay writing.

Each unit contains 3 topics for composition / essay writing, each provided with some useful hints.
